Goal

The Community Outreach Committee provides funding opportunities for new and innovative community based programs for the prevention, reduction, and control of tobacco use. The Community Outreach Committee and staff are responsible for the development and implementation of the community grants program. Staff ensure the development of a user-friendly RFP process, peer review process of all proposals, contract monitoring and technical assistance to grantees as needed.

• Provide cessation services.
• Develop cultural and language specific brochures and curricula.
• Provide awareness on smoking and housing issues.
• Provide youth and college student programs through after-school programs, peer education, contests, showcases, and public performances.
• Advocate, educate, and promote mobilization for the prevention, reduction and control of tobacco use in out communities.
